Very Sad. Remember Patrick Swayze is hard, racing for him even harder. We'll still be gather at the park 6pm on wednesdays, with lights, but racing for ourselves, not Patrick.

Last race I believe might have been the coolest course. A double ditch runup thing was the favorite.

The Theme is Ghost for Wednesday. Some people have been dressing for the theme, some not. Its good either way.

Instead of doing 2 races, we'll be cut down to 1 25 minute race. It will still be an awesome time.

This is from the 2nd race last Wednesday. This Wednesday we will have a completely new course with a run up and downhill mount. Also, maybe a barrier or two. Expect the ground to be a little softer this time.

Remember, free to race, good practice, good time, no numbers or license needed.

Please wear a helmet have at least 1 brake.

Roanoke Park, just north of the community center by Karnes Blvd. and Roanoke. 6:15 is start time, so be at least 10 minutes early.

Boss Cross is an excellent CX Series. The next race is October 30th, Dress up.

The reason I bring up Boss Cross is that they have this cool thing called the "Leaders Jersey." Kind of like the Yellow Jersey in the Tour De France. We have one too. Thank you to Chrome for this! If you want the best bag, buy a Chrome Bag. Better yet, go to yourLocal Bike Store and get it.

Now, to the racing. We had way more people than we anticipated, 30 or more. We were very excited to see everyone show up. It was a great practice/race with a challenging course. We did 2 races. Both went well and I didn't see any blood. With the expectations of a smaller turnout, we had no numbers, so scoring was a bit of a puzzle. We do know the top 5 from each race, with Britton K. and Justin G. both getting 1st and 2nd in each race. There were plenty of other fast dudes too and I'm sure even more will be showing up.

Plan for this wed, October 6th.

Gonna be 2 races.

1st race starts at 6:15. Don't bother showing up late, we gotta finish before the darkness.

6:15. .5 mile course, 10 minute Race.

6:30 .99 mile course, 20 minute Race.

This style of racing is made to grow the cyclocross community. The racing is hard, the course is challenging, and the time is short.

You do not need a license, you do not need to pay to race, you don't need to call the cops. Just show up and go.

These days we race CROSS. Starts at 6:00pm in Roanoke Park, just north of the Volker Bicycles Store where the cobbles are off Roanoke Road.

RACING starts at 6:15, it gets dark in october so we start on time.

Road House is Wednesday, 10-7-09. Location is the same as last week.

Uphill tt starts at 6:10.

8 min. short track at 6:30.(a ditch will be involved.)

14 min. long track at 6:45

Race will be on time, in order to finish before darkness comes.

Dirty Dancing Results!

Lots of riders experienced a short time trial (32 seconds won it), an 8 minute, very technical hilly short track, and a 14 minute long cx race with a 50 meter run through sand, and two tough off camber descents.

Somehow we had a tie between Chris and Garret. Both took 2nd and 3rd (and vice/versa) in both cx mass starts and had the same time in the tt! Both get prizes!

Cameron won both mass start races on a fixed, but couldn't hammer and dismount in the tt as good. He will be the man to beat next week.

Next week we will have a strong man tt. Straight up the bricks!
